Dear Praying and Supporting Friends,

We thank the Lord for a good start to 2017.  Just before the New Year we got wonderful news from the doctor that the treatment we had in the states for Rebekah’s thyroid cancer appears to have worked.  She will be closely monitored with visits every three months to be sure nothing comes back.  The nodule is still there but seems not to be cancerous anymore.  Praise the Lord and thank you all for your prayers.  The boys are doing well at Bible college in the states and Lee is here with us counting down the months till he too can be with his brothers at Bible college.

The first two weeks of January I was able to participate with our friend and fellow missionary, Bill Keiffer, with teen camp at Hope Ranch, located 9 hours north of us. The first week was leadership training and the second week was teen camp.  It was a wonderful time.  Six people came to Christ, and I was able to personally lead one young man to Christ.  I also was blessed to have one young man surrender to full time Christian service.

We have some exciting things planned for this year.  We now have several men across the country who are very interested in our new on-line Bible college.  We are working hard to get the institute launched by next semester.  Be in prayer with us as this is a huge undertaking, but is a huge need.  Most independent Baptist Churches here in Brazil are too small to have a fully effective Bible College.  By recording missionaries and national pastors all around the country we are providing small churches with a way to train their future pastors, church workers and laymen.

We are also about to start Compassion Baptist Church.  We are actively looking for a property we can use.  We have also had some great conversations with Junior and Janiana, a young couple who are going to help us with this new church plant.  We are excited to have them join us in this new endeavor.

We have been informed by several churches that somehow you have not gotten all of our prayer letters.  We are working on fixing this problem, but to help us out.  IF you do not get a letter from us every couple of months please send us an e-mail so we can rectify the situation.  Thank you for the years of faithful support and prayers we have received from each and every one of you.  We could not be here without your help.

In His Service,

Bryan & Rebekah Johnson
